This one is an old model that I had a play around with almost a year ago, now. But I never finished it because I always had problems with the jar and the visibility of the clear plastic tabs.

There were many discussions re: "the problem of tabs on clear media" on Nintendo Papercraft forum, but nothing that I found satisfactory.

I used overhead projector plastic film, which I found inherently difficult to glue together because it was made of Polypropylene (PP). It was only after purchasing 20 sheets in a pack that I discovered PP doesn't like with superglue - it's possibly the only material in the world that repels Cyanoacrylate !

So I finally got off my proctastinating bottom and finshed this model "old school" style - an idea here, a tweek there, a snip here, and a try-again there. What you are seeing is the 2nd fairy (the first got smoshed by my 3y/o) and the 3rd jar (not the failed prototypes) that I have built from the model/ emplate we released December last year.

It's not perfect, or like we envisioned, but it'll do for now. Or until they make a glue for PP plastic. I could always try glass and silicone ... phft, that's foolish talk!

If you want to have a go at it, you can find the template here [link] , half way down the page.

You may be having issues with your internet browser's proxy settings.

I had a similar problem with rapidshare once, after I downloaded the latest version of my internet browser - it turns out that my proxy settings were wrong.

So if you're using Firefox you need to go:
-tools
-options
-advance
-network
-connection
-settings
-auto detect proxy for this network

For Internet Explorer you go:
-tools
-internet options
-connections
-local area network (LAN) settings
-LAN settings
-check "auto detect"
-uncheck "proxy server"

I changed the settings and now it's like it's trying to open it, but stops short. It goes to the new url, but when the page loads, it's just blank, and no other windows come up :(

I've uploaded the file to an FTP - just copy&paste the following link into your address bar, hit enter and you should get it: www.zapotlanejo.info/paperpokes//Temp/fairy%20in%20a%20bottle.rar

So cool! At first i thought this was tinkerbell when i first saw the thumbnail from searching. but i have a question, how did you made the jar? i made one but it's not a jar but it's a box made of acetate which is ugly.

The jar is also made of acetate (overhead projector film). And yes, clear tabs on a clear surface are pretty ugly. What I did was to cut off the tabs and connect all the edges with that tiny strip of paper - the acetate superglued to paper even though it wouldn't superglue to itself. This way, I get a cover for the ugly edges and a solid structure for the acetate to adhere to.
