Artisan Crafts / Folding & Papercraft

So I've been thinking about this Quantum Theory for a while, and it still does my head in. I think that for us mere mortals, the simplest explanation is that it's like asking what is the sound of one hand clapping in a forest.

So I made a PDO for a box, along with a Schrödinger's cat-related hazchem symbol for each side, and wondered whether it was even worth putting a cat, Giger counter and a flask of poison in it too. Because, therein lies the paradox - does it exist or not?

I decided against actually sealing any papercraft objects in the box - this is not Chansey (if you've ever built the Paperpokés Chansey, you'd understand)!! And then got to wondering what cat to make for the box.

I had a look at all the papercraft cats that were available, and none really piqued my interest, except Canon's American Shorthair [link] . But I wasn't keen on building a 31cm box to fit this 30cm cat. And editing it ... meh, who could be bothered?

Then I remembered that Brandon had given me a Pokémon "cat" to test build, and so I used that instead - two birds with one stone! And It looked AWESOME!!!

So the short story is, Skitty will be added to the Paperpoéks schedule, which is rather long-term now, so you will be able to download it, but probably not until September at the earliest.

Look, Schrodingers Cat is not hard. It is not some zen riddle! Schrodinger did not like quantum mechanics. So he came up with this thought experiment, to show how ludicrous it was to him. The cat is in a superposition of states. It is both dead and alive, until an observation is made, making the wave form become either/ or. Schrodinger did not pose this thought experiment seriously, quite the opposite. Schordinger meant it as a reductio ad absurdum. He used it as a critique of many quantum theories, such as wave-particle duality. However, he did help the philosophy community (most scientists tend to!) by proposing a crossroad type scenario, where something is two things simultaneously. I.e. Try everything once because it could be amazing, or it could be terrible, no way of knowing until you observe. By the way, love this idea, you are a genius. I'd name this Oak-Schrodinger's skitty thought experiment.

I love quantum physics. They're so deliciosly difficult to understand and therefore worth learning about.

And as a Pokemon fan, and a fan of Schrodinger's cat, this is very clever and cute.
